Position Summary
We are a private primary school located in Causeway Bay, now looking to hire a horticultural specialist to provide our students education in environmental sustainability and conservation awareness. Secondly, such a specialist candidate will also assist school management in sustainable landscape planning of various plantation areas within our greater campus, which covers significant acreage and includes significant bio-diversity (animals and plants) from the adjacent forestry. Such position will also have opportunity to bring students to off-site and extend the offer of environmental sustainability education outdoor.
Position Title: Horticultural Specialist and Environmental Sustainability Educator
Requirements:
- A relevant diploma in horticulture, preferably from international accredited institution
- Experience in organic farming methods and ability to demonstrate in detail to students in indoor and outdoor environment
- Experience in teaching bio-diversity and various conservation topics to students
- Experience in complex landscaping design, planning, budgeting, implementation and maintenance
- Experience in operating, storing industrial equipment, and design safety and health policy for using such equipment
- Experience in different styles of garden designs (European, US, Asian) and ability to select flower/tree species for implementation
- Strong ICT/ Art and Design background
- Native English speaker and writer
- Experience in teaching online
Duties:
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons in nature studies and horticulture as a part of the schools STEM program.
- Demonstrate organic farming concepts and practise lesson outdoor (on campus)
- Plan, prepare and demonstrate bio-diversity concepts and conservation topics to students
- Lead planning and implementation of sustainable landscaping in various plantation areas within campus area
- Create dedicated plant nursery area on campus
- Maintain plantation health on campus, diagnosing plant problems (insect infestations/diseases)
- Demonstrate plant growing techniques: pot culture, baskets, hydroponics, etc.
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons in Design Technology in line with the ability of the students after appropriate risk assessments
- Usage and maintenance of gardening tools (including electric and motorised) and machinery.
- Assisting other staffs with after school activities
- Assisting with online teaching across all subject areas where necessary
- Assisting with school bus transport to and from Central Piers
Preferable:
- 3 years or more experience in teaching children with Special Needs (ASD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD)
- Carpenter skills for creating various horticultural tools

Position Title: Special Education Needs Teachers (SEN -Sensory Circuit / Life Skills)
Requirements:
- Must have at least 4 years of experience in teaching children with Special Needs ( ASD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ADHD)
- Must have Sensory circuit training, Life Skills and Lego therapy training
- Must be trained in Physical, Positive Restraint techniques
- Must have experience in using Lexonik Sound Training in teaching
- Must have mental health awareness training
- Must have experience in teaching online
- Must be a native English Speaker
- Must have Permitted Teacher Status -Life Skills

Must have experience of developing Individual Education Plans ( IEP’s)
Duties:
- Plan, prepare and teach lessons in the Nurture Class to include sensory circuit, sound training and Lego therapy.
- Assisting with after school activities and break duties
- Assisting with online teaching across all subject areas where necessary
- Assisting with the teaching of sport for learners with SEND
- Making risk assessments for SEND pupils both on and off site
- Developing Individual Education Plans
